TK shares a few of his recent phenomenal sightings - from the Plains Pride taking down a giraffe yesterday to seeing the five wild dog puppies from the Kalahari Plains pack resting, to watching the pack drinking at the waterhole in front of camp, and later chasing an oryx (only to be interrupted by Short Wheel Base who also also tried his luck, unsuccessfully), there is never a dull moment in this extraordinary corner of Botswana's Central Kalahari Game Reserve...

We were lucky to experience the truly amazing, once a year African wildlife drama. Our first few days were extremely dry and parched, water was short and grazing sparse, then the heavens erupted with the first rains of the season, the magical transformation of the bush, renewed energy of the animals and abundant emergence of reptiles and insects was spectacular.

While Little Ruckomechi doesn't open for another six weeks or so, manager Eddie and staff are already hard at work preparing the camp for our first visitors in April. Fortunately, he always makes time to admire the wildlife in and around camp..
