We were very pleased with our overnight getaway to the Sheffield 1802 house. This historic home was super clean and comfortable. Breakfast included many options and the dining area was set up with help-yourself options. Very impressed with the range of covid precautions, including a mask requirement within the inn, hand sanitizer available in multiple locations, temperature check for guests and host on check-in, and a socially distanced approach to a delicious breakfast!
Really nice place & great value. Their Covid protocols and guidelines made us feel safe, as we were nervous staying away from home for the first time in many months. The house is lovely - understated with real charm and the room was excellent. Breakfast was superb - better than expected and better than it needed to be... plenty of choices - eggs, sausage, bacon, ham, waffles, omelet... & all cooked perfectly. Both days included a homemade muffin that was perfect to take with us on a morning hike. The set up is very easy going & focused on guest’s convenience - snacks & drinks available 24/7 and there were even home baked brownies on offer which were delightful. There are several little details that just make the stay that much nicer - for example, a set of usb outlets on both sides of the bed for nighttime phone charging (last trip I had to stretch a charging cable as far as I could to rest my phone on the floor to get within a few feet of the bed), a stopper to put at the bottom of the door to snuff out light when it was time for bed & darkness, the rooms have a key code personalized for you so you remember it - and no key or key cards required... things like that. The only downside is that there isn’t much walkable, but you’ll probably have a car and there are hiking trails, restaurants, antique stores & Great Barrington for shopping etc within 10-15 mins drive. Thoroughly recommend.…
My daughter and I have given this B and B a perfect 10-one of the best B and Bs we have stayed in, ever. The house really feels like it could be your (beautifully done) home-clean, tastefully decorated, bright. The managing couple (an artist and publisher/writer) are friendly, really interesting, engaging and attentive. The walls are filled with David's art (tours of the attached studio are free :) The rooms are cozy, with great attention to detail. We enjoyed the home made breakfast-varied and delicious. We look forward to bringing the rest of the family next time.
Christopher and David provided a warm welcome, amazing accommodation and a lovely breakfast of home made quiche - 3 varieties plus the usual toast, cereal and hot drinks. Such a lively old house, beautifully maintained and adorned with the owners' impressive artwork created in the attached studio he is happy to show you. 100 percent recommended.
Sheffieid 1802 bed and breakfast is such a charming place. David and Christopher are the most gracious hosts and make you feel right at home. They thought of everything! The room was absolutely beautiful and quite comfortable. My husband and I will be back. 😊 Highly recommended!
