The location of the campsite is beautiful and unique as campers and caravans will stay on an old abandoned football field. It is a nice walk next to the lake from/to the town of Eiði where you will find one supermarket. We arrived with our tent and there are (not so many even) tent places next to the lake with nice views. The facilities (they were used by the football players before) are run down and neither in a good shape nor clean. There are common showers (one for women, one for men) but water is not really warm but at least showers are for free. In the middle there is another big room with a diaper-changing table and one shower and toilet which you can lock. Three are only three toilets inside (one light was broken and not fixed until we left) and there is another toilet you can access from outside but it has a broken lock. There are a lot of locals staying with children so pitch your tent a bit far away from the house and noise if you want a peaceful sleep. The kitchen is small and dark and not very well equipped and clean. So best is if you have your own cooking gear. There are benches to sit outside as well but if the kitchen is crowded and it is raining it can be hard to find a place to sit down and get warm. The price is 200 DKK incl. power for a camper or caravan. Coming with a tent is not very cheap. It will cost you 100 DKK per person. To use the kitchen it is another 20 DKK, same for washing maschine and dryer. There are a lot more beautiful and better tent sites on the Faroe Islands – I would not come here again.…
When traveling the Faroes it is good to invest in a good tent. The campsites of Torshavn and Eidi both have good facilities and are cheap compared to the outrageous prices of accomodation in the country. The kitchen is functional and warm, you have a place to dry your clothes, the showers (although collective) are free (in Eidi, but not in Torshavn where you pay 10 kröner). Also it is located 10 minutes by food from the bus stop and the village is nice, has a supermarket and great views. To choose a "good room" i'd advise to set the tent either uphil for the nice view, somewhere behind the facilities if you want less wind or next to the staircase to the kitchen if you have a small bladder.
