Visited for a few nights last April for the World Snooker and thoroughly impressed with the room, cleanliness and standards. Already booked for this year. Very friendly staff, spacious twin room, excellent bathroom and all needs and requirements met to a high standard.
Had no issues with the hotel, are issue is with the information on there web site, we used the car Park they suggested The Moor £8 for 24hrs it is actually £15 now, so your web site needs an update. There are cheaper car parks around that area.
I don’t like giving bad reviews but I’ve got to be honest. I didn’t think this hotel was value for money. The room was small for the price I paid. The hotel is difficult to find if you’re travelling by car and you can’t ever park outside to drop off people. Sorry but I was not impressed.
Arrived here after 4 hour car journey to find hotel had no parking on site. Walking into hotel you would think it was a coffee shop, no reception desk, just someone with a laptop. We paid £244 for 2 nights (we were totally ripped off). Checked into what can only be described as a postage stamp sized room (3 of us) it was honestly the smallest room I’ve ever seen. After complaining, we were offered another room which was slightly bigger but just as basic, but it stank of smoke. Windows don’t open, no bin, no hair dryer. We had to be in the area as we had to be somewhere early the next morning so we had no choice to accept the room. Thought we’d give the on-site cafe a go for dinner. Told 20 min wait for food (pizza and a panini) an hour later, still no food. Also the waiting staff didn’t even have their hair tied up which is surely a basic requirement when dealing with food??? Fire alarm sounded for 30 seconds one night, maybe another guest smoking in their room perhaps. The only positive thing we can say was how polite all the staff were. We heard several people complain about things while we were there, and I think they were genuinely embarrassed about it all. All in all a very basic budget hotel … with a hefty price tag. Would not recommend or stay here again.…
Good things: Staff were friendly and helpful. Cafe in hotel lobby was nice, and reasonably priced. Good shower. Convenient location. Adjustable heating in room. Checkout was midday which was more time than some places give. Overall good for location and price. Would stay again. Less good things: The room we were first given was extremely small. It was a triple booked for 3 people but 3 people could barely stand on the available floor space unless all hugging each other. The hotel staff offered us another room which was more suitable. It smelled of smoke and the window didn't open though it did dissipate somewhat after we left the door to the hallway open for a bit. The bed was not especially comfortable, but not terrible. Overall, it was decent for the price.
