Smuk udsigt, men lidt overfyldt.

Hi, we are planning to camp here for our wedding anniversary. Unfortunately all reservations are booked up and it is first come first serve only. We were planning to camp Friday October 12th through Monday the 15th. Would arriving Thursday night give me greater chances of getting a spot? Is this impossible? I’d like to know the odds I’m up against as it is a 6 hour drive for us
Hi there are quite a number of tent sites that are first come first serve. Not sure how busy the campground is in october but My daughters and i went the first week in august and had plenty to choose from when we arrived on Thursday. No question folks start to arrive on Friday but i don't recall them being sold out (but to be fair there was a flood watch that Friday!). Bottom line, you should have no problem showing up Thursday and probably even ok early Friday. But with a six hour drive I'd err on the side of caution and try to get there as early as possible.

We are looking for a secluded (Rv)site with lots of trees and would greatly appreciate a section referral for this. Is there a section that is good for this? Site suggestions?
We just decided to go camping Memorial Day weekend and of course all the tent sites are already reserved. How likely is it that I would be able to get a non-reservable site if we arrived on Friday and what time would I need to get there? Would 2 6-person tents fit on one site? We’ll have 4 adults and 2 kids. I’d have no problem getting 2 sites, but I’m guessing that’s a stretch.
What are the chances of getting a campsite if we arrive Friday afternoon in October? Has anybody not been able to get a walk-in site in the past?
If you get there early you should have a good chance of getting a site.

How strict is the occupancy limit? We are a family of 6 with a reservation, occupancy limit says 6 max, but Grandma was thinking about joining us last minute.
While the Rangers are very nice, they seem to be real sticklers for the rules. We have a motorcycle camper, which is more like a tent than a camper, but because it has small tires they would not let us park it on the grass ANYWHERE, because they said the rules say ALL tires must be on the pavement. They said if we did not park on the pavement, we would have to leave. This was sort of a problem because the tent section has to be stakes....we figured it out, but they DID come around and check. I did not see any really big family groups, but most of the camper sites are pretty close together, so you could install Grandma (or a couple of kids) in a tent and it would still be like having one site. If Grandma has a senior pass (we do) she can get a site for $10.00. And you can get in free to the park as long as she is with you. I would call them and ask if you can have seven on a site, but I would bet that they are not going to allow it....
