Took us about an hour to get to the falls (with a detour) and 35 - 40 minutes to walk out without stopping. It is an easy hike through the woods on a wide path until you get to the falls and then it is about a 100’ steep hill down to the falls. The trail and hill can be done by just about anyone, although it’s not suitable for a stroller. It’s a gradual incline up on the way in. Take your time in the way down the hill to the falls and it’s fine.

You can even drive in most of the way to the falls. We saw a Jeep parked just before the bridge. It would be great for mountain biking. Dogs would have no trouble except for the last 100’ down the hill but most dogs could make it.

It’s is unmarked but easy to follow except finding the path down to the falls. We walked right by it. If you get out to power poles and power lines, you’ve gone too far. Just BEFORE the power poles/lines, it is on your left. You’ll see it once you’re looking for it.

Also, halfway in, there is a sign that says David Morse Trail. From the map on our hiking app, it looks like that leads to a much narrower trail that was called “Crystal Falls Trail”. We kept right, however, and walked across the bridge, staying on the wider path.

Our GPS took us right to the trail head. You’ll probably see the cars parked along Harmony Rd. You can drive in a little ways and park as well.

Pictures hardly do the falls justice, especially in the fall colours. Once there, you can also get to the top of the falls either on the left or right side, although right is easier. Be careful as it is a steep cliff.

Get out enjoy the outdoors. Nice walk in the woods to a small waterfall. Should be a pretty easy hike for most people
No bugs on a somewhat sunny day

The falls are simply amazing. You were taking what appears to be an old road now it’s more of a ATV trail you go up one side of the river across in front of the falls then come down the other side of the river going back to the entrance. The trail is not the best a lot of broken ground and it’s wet . Rocky route not a place I take a stroller. The falls are about 2 km in from the road.

Hubby and I drove from Halifax to Annapolis Royal stopping along the way at a few different attractions to break up the journey. On the way back to Halifax we went to Crystal Falls to go for a hike to stretch our legs and work off lunch. We were glad we met up with some other walkers as I'm not sure we would have navigated the trail the way we did without some input. From the trailhead by Greenwood Road you walk up the dirt road. At the fork you can go to the right which takes you over a little bridge and up to a clearing. As you head into the clearing there is a trail off to the left that heads to the falls. Once at the falls you can decide whether you want to walk down the other side by crossing over the water or head back the way you came. Not a hard hike but suggest proper footwear as you are walking along a rocky dirt road and if you decide to cross over the water you want to make sure you are not going to slip in. I didn't clock the km but would guess between 4 - 5 km round trip.

Little hard to find. Off of Harmony Road just past Rockville Notch bridge there is a unmarked, unmaintained road. Drive or walk 700m to a fork- turn right over a bridge and walk another 700m to a clearing. Take the first trail on the left down the hill to the falls.
Bring a picnic, swimsuit and just hang out. It's a beauty. Cliff jumping too!
