It is open everyday, but it is surrounded by a high fence and they lock the gates at 5pm.

I took an Uber from the historic district and we traveled by highway part of the way, so it’s hard to know if there would be a safe bike route that did not include the highway. The neighborhood surrounding the cemetery seemed mostly residential, so probably okay to bike but I did not see many restaurants in the immediate area. Especially with specific dietary concerns, you might want to consider eating in the historic area and then heading to the cemetery with water/snacks. It’s definitey worth the trip! (And bring bug spray!)

We bought a map and did a self-guided tour. They have graphics of the well-known and big statues obviously shown on the map, as well as graves of historical interest. However, there's probably some insight in a guided tour that might be interesting. To answer your question, they only cancel the tours if it's a heavy downpour.

This is a "long" stroll. "..plenty of benches" is a stretch, but there are a few and it can be driven through as well. Bring water and you will love it. It's very shaded. Enjoy

There is a map available at the cemetery. It is also very well marked if you are looking for certain burial sites. I wouldn't use a tour guide. Take a stroll and absorb the great history. I would also try Amazon for specific information aabout the Bonaventure. .

As the others said, there is no charge to drive through. You can park outside and walk if you wish. We drove in, and where there were wider sections we got out and walked, came back, and moved the car to the next spot. We were here in December, so not in the prime tourist season and there were plenty of people here(some walked the entire thing).

October is a fine time to visit especially since the weather cools down. There are plenty of tours that are friendly to wheelchairs for this time as well.

At the entrance from the Bonaventure Road there is a Visitor's Center. You can get the information and map of the cementary there.

The cemetery is open to cars. However, be respectful in choosing where you park. Many tombstones are located close to the dirt road.
