Gorgeous fall colors in this cemetery with maple trees ablaze throughout this location. Many cars throughout the area during this period of time. Caution is advised.

Can't believe it's the #3 tourist attraction in Harrison, but not much is in Harrison. Most reviews are abut the fall scenery. We were there in February. It is a beautiful cemetery, with great views. We actually had a funeral there. The staff is superb, helpful, considerate, and friendly. They go out of their way to make your experience what you need.

The Maplewood Cemetery has been on tour schedules for several years, and people throughout the State of Arkansas include the cemetery on their "must see" list. For family visiting in the fall, we always take them to Maplewood. They can't believe we want them to see a cemetery, but quickly realize its beauty. The Maple trees turn to bright red, orange and yellow splendor in the fall. Professional photographers bring clients to take natural fall family photo shoots. A place for remembering those interred there and a peaceful place for reflection. The grounds are beautifully kept, and God's artwork is seen in the beautiful colors.

Life is all about living and dying. If you have an eye for solemn beauty, a love for orderly processes, an appreciation for epitaphs represented in the dash between dates of births and deaths, a cemetery can be a place of interest.

Maplewood Cemetery provides a very large, well kept, Maple treed resting place for thousands of folks who are forever now a part of the grounds, memorials, and history of the area around and about Harrison, Arkansas.

Anytime of year will provide its own awe and beauty of a well-kept and arbored park-like acreage where a visitor may drive, walk, visit, and observe, think, and reminisce.

Budding, full foliage, changing, shedding, hundreds of Maple trees in orderly array around the graves of those whose bodies lie in company with so many others.

Why should you or I visit such a place? There is a sacred, silent, solemn wonderment that emanates from the sadness of death, the finality of dying, the end of life's struggles, and the beckon-call of the well-kept grounds of Maplewood and other such places. It is well worth the trip.

It is not really a morbid thing to visit here. It is beautiful, old, ordered, and arrayed in flowers, marble tombstones, ornamental entry/exit gates, and those ever-present Maple trees spreading out over the grounds and pointing up and into the heavens. A message? I thought so.
