We saw lots of publicity for the ‘Road to Hana’ so decided to drive it ourselves.
It’s a lengthy drive on a bendy small road and not very inspiring. The end stop doesn’t have much to do and along the route there is little of interest.
On one bend is a very small waterfall where one can take pictures.
Overall we felt the time would be far better spent at other locations without driving for hours. Tour companies pad the (Long) day with park visits but the road itself isn’t very picturesque.

We wrecked our rental car near Hana Town. Our car rental company Alamo said no problem we'll get a driver right out to you. Long story short, after both Uber and Lyft did not take the ride, Alamo found this company willing. The driver William was great, doing his best to get us back to Kahului airport but though we arrived exactly at closing time, Alamo (and all other car rentals) were closed up tight. William got his van stuck in the car rental area, since it was now closing time all of entrances were either blocked or had "back up preventer" strips engaged. No problem for William he called and got another driver Mike to meet us without coming in to the rental return area. Mike took us to our condo where we got some much needed sleep before our return flight in the morning.

Holoholo transportation service from our Hotel to Maui Airport. I booked transportation two weeks in advance with a company called Holoholo for pickup from our hotel in Lahaina to the Maui Airport. I DO NOT recommend this company unless you want to miss your flight. I received a confirmation with a payment summary of the charge of the fare with the tip to my credit card. Not only was our driver a NO SHOW but the company was not open to answering calls until 8:00 am. We were to be picked up at 5:30 AM. We were lucky that a kind valet called us a cab and the cab driver literally speed us to the airport. We were very lucky that 1.) we had enough cash to pay and tip the cab driver since the cabs don't take credit cards and 2.) we had pre-TSA and didn't have to wait in the long line to get to our gate. Save yourself some grief and just order a cab. They cost the same and the shuttles will pick you up and will make an additional 4 different stops before they get to your destination which could be an extra hour or two more. It's even recommended by the hotels to order even a cab an hour ahead of time and cabs are the most reliable.

We booked online despite the mixed reviews. The company website promised they would call to confirm within 48 hours. Never heard from them so I called them, but no one ever picked up, so I’m not sure they’re still operating.

We had a shuttle set up through Viator, but they did not show up. Saw a shuttle van sitting at the curb. Asked the driver, William for some help. He directed us back into the terminal to speak with Speedi shuttle. They were doing Viator’s shuttles, but they did not have our reservation with checking our confirmation number. They also were sending out the last shuttle of the night and it was full. Back out to William for hopefully a suggestion. He was waiting for a group, but said if we didn’t mind being delayed a little bit, he had room for us. It was after 9:00 pm by then and there was no one else around. We took him up on his offer. His shuttle was actual almost in the opposite direction, but he was nice enough to help us out in this situation at that time of night. During our ride he was very pleasant to speak with and we had a great conversation. I found out during that conversation he had already worked a long day. That’s why we were so appreciative for his help. He also gave some history and information on the island. His van was huge, clean and very comfortable. 5 stars for CB Taxi and especially for William. 9And Viator made it easy to get a full refund.)

Booked a Mercedes Sprinter for my friend’s 40th bday with this company. Constant communication via email and when the day arrived, Mike (our driver) arrived on time! He was super cool and professional. Would do business again! Really took care of us. Mahalo for everything!

Used this service to transport to and from our hotel in Wailea. Lovely people (both on the phone while booking and the drivers), arrived early, in clean vehicles and were happy to offer recommendations about what to do in Maui. The price is at least as reasonable as (non-surge) Uber pricing ($49 airport to Wailea). Would book again without hesitation.

our driver,Kimo was very knowledgeable and, being a local, was able to provide interesting info about the area and the beautiful vistas we experienced.

We booked a transfer from the Kahului airport for our daughter and a friend, and although the driver was supposed to meet them at "the bottom of the escalator holding a sign with their name", such was not the case. In fact, the driver was no where to be found. Our daughter called the provided number several times to no avail, and only after obtaining help from the information desk at the airport, were they finally able to locate the driver. The driver also had the wrong destination information, and wanted to drive them to the wrong resort. All in all, not the experience that was promised.
