Before I forget like him: Make sure you bring cash! ;) Fidel Lopez was my initial contact. He met us off the ship at San Juan del Sur to take us to Ometepe Island, under the conditions I had requested. He was always looking out for our comfort and being very protective. I don't know how anyone can get on that ferry on a busy day without an "insider" helping. Our ferry ride was super awesome. The day was clear and we had great views of the island and the volcanoes. Once we got to Ometepe, we were met by the person Fidel had hired to do that part of the tour. I'm so sorry I have forgotten his name. I don't know if our tour would have been as successful without him. He was born and raised on the island. Knows it like the back of his hand, down to knowing when to stop to have us take pictures. Knows people wherever he goes. He's a "take charge" guy and would take us to places impromptu. He took us to a beautiful hotel by the sea (Villa Paraiso) to have lunch, great food and service! Of course, Fidel was right there with us the whole time. I'm so happy I chose Ometepe as our shore tour, and Neptune Transport Services (especially Fidel) as the provider to make it happen. Nicaragua, or at least that part of it, was absolutely amazing.

We had the pleasure of having Fidel as a driver for three legs of our trip, from Maderas Village to Popoyo, Popoyo to Rivas, and Rivas to Managua. Fidel was always on time, and interacted with us on Whatsapp to plan routes as we faced some civil strikes/protest roadblocks during some of our travel days. He made us feel comfortable during each transport and was a great conversationalist with a wide range of interests, talk to him about scuba diving! Also, Fidel's car was very reliable and was never a concern for us at all.
Having Fidel as a private transport become a staple of our trip and honestly I could not imagine it going as smoothly without him looking out for us. If you require transport within Nicaragua, look no further!

My every interaction with Neptune Transport was pleasant and proffessional. Brynner made every effort to accomodate my changing schedule. He was always able to assist and consistently had such a pleasant attitude. I also have nothing but high praise for my driver Fidel. From the first night he picked me up for our 2 hour plus drive to San Juan del Sur until he dropped me off 7 days later at the airport in Managua, Fidel was punctual, courteous, and a great conversationalist. His English was perfect and his knowledge and interests are wide-ranging which made for great conversations. I will definitey use Neptune's services when I return to Nicaragua.

We decided to not stay in Managua and head to Leon the night we arrived in Nicaragua. Fidel, as agreed, was there to pick us up at the airport and jetted us off in the middle of night to Leon, which is about 2 hrs from Managua. His English is near perfect, and he is friendly, amicable, flexible and most importantly, very punctual and reliable. He also picked us up a few days later at our hotel in Leon and made sure we arrived in time at the airport to leave for the Corn Islands. Fidel is the definition of cool and is very laidback and a good conversationalist. I wouldn't think of using anyone else but him or Neptune when we come back to Nicaragua.

This was our first time visiting Nicaragua and Neptune helped make our visit great. We had 4 rides booked with Neptune (Airport to Granada, Granada to Ferry, Ferry to SJDS and SJDS to Airport). I received numerous quotes from other companies and Neptune's was the best (for a private SUV since there was 4 of us). Fidel was waiting for us at the airport, and we were all pretty tired so it was a pretty quiet ride, and everything went smoothly. Our next ride was with Miguel, who we had a great time with, he stopped at a mango stand so that we could grab some mangos. We liked Miguel so much that we requested him for all our other rides as well. Our Airbnb was 20min north of SJDS, so Neptune will even taxi you in and out of town if you want to go for dinner/drinks (the roads are terrible in most of these areas, so taxis would normally have a tough time getting to your place outside of town, but Neptune has many 4x4s in their fleet). On our final trip from SJDS to the Airport, we asked Miguel if we could stop for food. He pulled over at a busy local restaurant (which is what we wanted) and since the servers only spoke spanish, Miguel came out and handled all of our orders for us.
Overall we had a terrific experience with Neptune, Fidel and especially Miguel. They were always on time. I'm not sure how Miguel did it, but he always arrived at the exact minute that he was supposed to.

We were 3 hours late arriving at the border. Since we were so late we worried that our ride had left. They were there waiting and glad to see us. I would highly recommend Naptune. They are a service you can count on.

I've tried most every private transportation company here in Nicaragua, and much to my chagrin, I continued to have terrible experiences...Until I found Neptune Transport Services. They live up to every standard they present themselves as, and I have not (nor will I) use any other private transportation company here again, and I only recommend them to all of my friends, family, and anyone who asks. They truly are the best....5 Stars, A++

My wife and I vacationed in Nicaragua from February 6 to 14, 2018 with an itinerary that featured four diverse locations: the colonial city of Granada, Zopango Island in Assense Bay of Lake Nicaragua, the coffee farm Finca Linda Ojos in the Miraflor Nature Reserve north of Esteli, and the deluxe cabanas at Verdad at Costa Dulce on the Pacific coast. After internet research and quote requests, I reserved the services of Neptune Transport Services for the entire trip, from pick up and drop off at Managua Airport. It was a very wise decision. Sr. Fidel Lopez, the fluently English speaking owner of the company who served as our driver throughout, is highly professional, graciously amiable, informative, and punctual. We felt completely at ease and safe with his driving and guidance throughout the highly variable terrain we traveled (including miles of unpaved roads when traveling to the Miraflor reserve). The company's vehicles, all appropriately all-wheel drive, were comfortable, spacious and air-conditioned. I recommend Sr. Lopez and Nepture without hesitation!
I can also endorse the helpful advice provided in Neptune's website. I could communicate in fluent English email with the company in advance of our arrival and we agreed on a reasonable price for the complete itinerary.
Let me add a word of advice to traveler's contemplating renting a car and driving on their own in Nicaragua -- you will be better served by hiring Neptune. Outside of Managua, Nicaragua's "highways" are no more than one lane in each direction, usually without a shoulder. These roads are traversed by vehicles ranging from large trucks to ox-carts. Moreover, there is no apparent tradition in Nicaragua for slow moving vehicles to pull over to allow faster traffic to easily pass. As a consequence, passing other cars on these two lane roads, which is often essential, is a skill best reserved for experienced Nicaraguan drivers. We were glad to sit back and let a pro like Sr. Lopez do the driving.

We had a good English speaking friendly driver. He was perfectly on time and the car was really comfortable!

So this trip started out horribly. My wife and two children were flying in from the states and they lost both of our children's luggage. It was a nightmare. But, I believe his name was Fidel. Very nice man, he helped us find everything we needed for the kids, was incredibly patient with our children(who were screaming bloody murder). We had planned on only using them on the way to Granada. But, after what was supposed to be a thirty minute quick drive turned into a tour of Managua, we decided to use him for the rest of the trip. His knowledge of the history in the area we were in was amazing. We ended up having a 15 minute conversation about the construction of the Plaza de la Revolucion. Fidel was nothing short of amazing. I highly recommend this company and driver. His English was impeccable and he was great with our kids. Thanks so much for your awesome service!

Thank you so much leaving us a review as well as for the kind words. I personally thoroughly enjoyed the rides you and your family took with us, as the intriguing conversation went both ways. As for your beautiful children, one could only expect terror from toddlers after such a long flight; but I must say, they definitely take from their parents as they were the most delightful and intelligent little tots I have been around in quite some time!
I'm very happy to hear that you all enjoyed your stay and safely made it back home. We hope to see you again soon!
