great variety and fun picking!
jul. 2021
Ochs Orchard is unique among pick your own places. There is a great variety of fruit and vegetables. We never picked garlic before. The snap peas are delicious snacks. The blueberries we picked were the best we've picked. It seems more like a working farm.

Apple picking
sep. 2020 • Familierejse
Went to Ochs Orchard with family to pick some apples. A lot of folks had the same idea, but it wasn't that crowded. After buying our bags, we started out. The map they give you is laid out well. There is a real nice variety of apples. They have a small snack tent up in the orchard. When we were done picking, we stopped at their store on the way out. They have apple cider donuts, apple cider, along with other fruit related items. We all had a good time.

OCHS APPLES ARE DELICIOUS
sep. 2020 • Familierejse
We took my daughter to the Ochs Family orchard. Really a beautiful day with great apples. Very Helpful map to discover juicy tasty fruit. It was a bit crowded and some of the other guests were a little bitter but overall a great time. We have been going for years and always get some great fruit. The shop is nice as well with the famous Apple Cider Donuts. YUMMY

Best picking farm around
nov. 2019 • Familierejse
There is something to pick each month of growing season. Friendly and helpful staff. Not too over crowded. Local’s best kept secret.

GREAT for u-pick
okt. 2019
I have done strawberry picking here, and apple picking. GREAT ice cream in the shop. The cider is diluted and not as delicious as some of the other ciders in the area, but it's a LOT better than the stuff you buy in the store. It's not pasteurized, so it won't last crazy long, so drink it quickly.

Business like picking
okt. 2019
Ochs orchard is a serious experience. It is really for those who want to pick apples. There is less touristy things to do.
Also good to go early - by mid-October many of the trees were picked through.
Loved the apples we did pick!

Your next annual tradition, apple picking in a NY orchard
sep. 2019
We don't think much about where our food comes from, but a visit to Ochs will remind you. In the late summer and into fall they open their orchard to DIY pickers. While the focus is on the apples, there is also a wide variety of other fruits and vegetables, which mature at different times so check their schedule to ensure you are going when your favorite varieties are mature enough to pick. What has appealed to me in the decades that I have been coming here (I grew up nearby and now live in NYC), is the broad appeal that this simple task of picking your own food has for families from all backgrounds. Tips: bring cash, buy the apple bags if you plan to take home a lot (they are much easier to fill than you would imagine), make sure the taste some along the way, and bring a backpack or cart to help haul the weight. Also, avoid coming on Applefest when the entire town of Warwick is flooded with people from the region; the roads become parking lots!

Hands down...the best pick-your-own within a few hours radius.
jun. 2019 • Familierejse
In all honesty...I visited this Orchard's shop a few years ago and did not have the best experience. It was later in the day and everything was gone. The few staff members there did not say a word and I gave this place a sub-par rating...fast forward a few years later. After researching a few nearby places for cherry picking, I saw that Ochs had some great reviews and offered the most reasonable pick-your-own prices in the area. I decided to give it a try on a Sunday mid-afternoon. We arrived there around 1 PM and as instructed, drove past the store to the pick-your-own parking area. Lots of parking spaces available. We walked to the counter and was greeted with welcoming smiles. A young man brought us over and explained the procedure. You pay $5 per person to enter the orchard (eat whatever you want/sample?) and pay per pound for everything you pick and bring out. $4 of the $5 you pay goes toward your purchase in the end. So say... a family of ($20 total admission fee) picks $30 worth of fruit/veggies. When leaving, they would be credited $16 (4 x $4) and would only have to pay $14 ($30-$16) when leaving. Upon entry, each person is given a coin/token and your return those when leaving, which is how they know how much (or who) to credit. This system is great as it take a lot of work, time and effort to maintain the orchard. I can see people coming in and eating without taking anything out. This system justifies the "sampled/eaten" fruit as well as gives an incentive to bring out and purchase. Also from a business standpoint..it makes sense. Seeing all that fruit on the floor wasted gets me a bit angry. If you visit please be mindful of this and try to waste as little as possible. After leaving the counter, you can grab containers for your pickings. You can walk to various parts of the orchards, but there is a trolley that constantly makes its round so feel free to catch a free ride throughout the orchard. You may was to sue this for certain fruit/veggies as this place is massive. We ended up walking to the cherry area and we had a blast. Me and my 8 year-old had fun searching for the best of the best...even if it meant stretching a bit to the top. We sampled a few but came away with just under 2 pounds ($5.99 per pound). After, we went over to the blueberry/rasberry section but there wasn't much available at the time. Upon leaving, we took out cherries to the counter and surrendered our coins ($8 worth) and paid a small difference. There are a few picnic tables near the counter where people were sitting or having a snack/lunch. Like most orchards, there are a lot of hills so bring your walking shoes. Overall we had an excellent time there. All staff were super nice, friendly and patient. The orchards were well kept and the pricing system was very reasonable, especially compared to its nearby competitors. I did not feel it was right to keep my old sub-par review up based solely on the store. The orchards are excellent and I highly recommend anyone looking for pick-your-own to try this place out. We will definitely be back for apple picking in the fall. Last tip is to look at a map before simply following GPS. On the way there from NYC it took a long time since GPS took us through lots of winding 20-30 mph side roads which seemed like an eternity. Coming back, I browsed the GPS options which selected only main roadways and the return trip was much more pleasant.

great for picking veggies and apples

It's not fancy compared to other orchards in the area, but we love it being 'low key". Their pick your own prices are comparable to others in the area. Their cider donuts and apple butter are very good.

My Favorite Orchard in Warwick!
jun. 2018 • Familierejse
You pick not just apples, but garlic, and veggies, and berries! I like their little country store. It's a great view from the top of their hill. Much more authentic of an experience than the nearby, overpriced orchards overrun with kids and marketing schemes.
