I had seen the sign for Huckleberry Railroad and Crossroads Village on I-75 several times, but never stopped there. What a mistake. It is a great place to learn about the past and how things are done/work. The train is a great ride as is the riverboat. Highly recommend for all. Can't wait to go back for their Halloween and Christmas displays.

Both the village and railroad is well done and show great history of the area. While this is no Greenfield Village, it offers a lot of the same charm minus the chaos and crowds. The carousel is well done (just a little fast). The Ferris wheel was fun and offered nice views. I would love if the interpreters did things in the buildings that relate to the time. While some were doing things, most were just dressed in period clothing and were there to tell what you are seeing. This is a great place for history and showing your kids a bygone time.

Crossroads Village is a hidden gem. They do a great job decorating for the holidays, and you can’t go wrong with the train ride. Well worth the trip.

It takes you back in time and makes you feel like you are in a different world. So much to see. So much to learn!! Everyone is SO friendly! Older rides like a carousel and train ride, swings and a ferris wheel. Loved every second! The boat ride and train ride were amazing!! Highly recommend this place!

We loved the train ride-especially great during Halloween and Christmas! During Christmas they have Christmas scenes that you ride past in lights. Blue Belle beach is close, as is Stepping Stone Falls. An awesome time!

We went to Crossroads Village because it was close to the hotel but it turned out to be a hidden gem. The train ride gave us a real feel for rail travel back in the 1800s (be very grateful for the options we have today). The carousel and ferris wheel rides were also a lot of fun. The boat ride was ok but I wish there had been some narrative as to the history of the place and what we were seeing. The apple cider press demonstration was also very interesting.

Halloween is a great time to visit but plan for a long drive in from the expressway exit as well as a long walk from the parking lot to the main entrance.

This is a great place to take the kids. It takes you back in time and shows you how people lived in the past. Our kids loved all of the old buildings. They really enjoy the toy shop and seeing all of the old wooden toys. They really liked the magic show also. There are a few rides in the back of the property. The carousel goes pretty fast. Overall a great place to spend an afternoon. If you can go at Christmas time this is definitely worth it. It looks amazing all lit up with the Christmas lights. The train ride is also a lot of fun for the kids and they can't stop talking about riding an actual train.

They take you here as a kid when you're in school, but I recently went with a friend and we're in our mid-twenties. It's cheaper than Greenfield, and it's super fun - especially during Christmastime. I would definitely go back again; it's nice to just walk around, eat the toasted almonds, and have a good hangout time.

Bringing my daughter who is 6 months old to the Halloween Village and Train Ride event this weekend - wondering if we can bring her stroller on the train ride or if there is a safe place to keep it while we ride the train?

I’m trying to find this answer as well. Are you able to share what your experience was?
Is this park dog friendly?

I think they only allow service dogs due to it being a historical village. It doesn't hurt to call them and double check. 😊

How much time would I need to visit the village plus train and ferry?
Also, can you leave the park and come back in?

Plan on at least 3 to 5 hours, depending on train scheduling and ferry scheduling. Call before you go to check on train tickets. Sometimes they have groups which can take up large blocks of tickets. I don't know about policy for leave and return.
Is santa on the Christmas train trips or are there other activities for kids on the train like someone reading stories etc?

I believe Santa is in the Village, lots of decorations across Village, things for families to see and do across Village. The train ride is fun in the cold, heated cars help, but looking out on cold winter scenes with snow on the ground is fun. And steam locomotives come alive in the cold with huge clouds of steam enveloping loco as it sits at the station.
If a family member wants to come for Day Out With Thomas but not ride the train what uggs their cost?

Everyone needs an entry ticket but the non rider would not add the train ride add on.

Hi, I would like to know if there is a park nearby for family to bring own food before going into park for entertainment?

There are other parks nearby; there are restaurants within Crossroads Village; and you could in the past take food in with you. But, I’d call and double check with them.
