concessions are awful

terrible concessions. the food is just garbage. bring your own food. prices are as expected but the quality is junk.

Fun place for a game tbh.

Took my mom to Chicago to watch the bears vs broncos game tbh. Broncos won so that was good and my mom is almost 70 and has a wheelchair and the staff here might be better than any stadium I’ve been too. And I’ve been to about 20 stadiums. Very helpful staff. They even wheeled her to the rest room during the game. They’d ask if she needed anything. They came over before the game to see if she’d need help after the game. Very good staff and more stadiums should be like that. The gsme was fun and was cool seeing the bears song they sing. The scoreboard did seem old and to mess up a lot though. My only complaint lol. I wanted to do the tour but didn’t have time this trip. But it’s a good place for a game and a great place If you have an elder person with you.

Is it an eyesore or a treasure?

Am I the only Chicagoan who doesn't think Soldier Field is the "Eyesore on the Lake Shore" or "Monstrosity on the Midway" or "Mistake by the Lake," the renovation that has been described as if "a spaceship landed on the stadium?" Am I the only one who thinks it is a great place to watch a football game, that it is convenient to access, that it is a refreshing change from most cookie-cutter stadiums, that its glorious history overshadows any and all of its supposed shortcomings? Maybe so. Since it lost its status as a National Historic Landmark in 2006, it can be demolished in the hope that a new stadium will persuade the Chicago Bears to stay in Chicago. But it's hard to imagine Chicago without Soldier Field, like Chicago without Wrigley Field. I must admit I miss at least one significant feature of the old stadium, the huge black-and-white photograph of the 1937 Prep Bowl football game that attracted a record crowd of over 120,000 people that once covered a wall at the main entrance. Whatever happened to it? Nobody seems to know. It was too big to fit into somebody's den or rec room. Meanwhile, Soldier Field has its own identity. Opened in 1924 and reconstructed in 2003, dedicated to U.S. soldiers who died in World War I and originally built in the shape of a U in a neoclassical style with Doric columns rising above the East and West entrances, it has been the home of the Chicago Bears since 1971. While it once was big enough to draw crowds of 92,000 and 120,000, it now is the oldest stadium in the NFL but also the smallest with a capacity of 61,500. Located on Chicago's lakefront, between the Field Museum and McCormick Place, it has hosted pro, college and high school football games, World Cup and Gold Cup soccer matches, the Special Olympics, political rallies, stock car races, tractor pulls, ice hockey, rugby, musical concerts, the College All-Star football game and the famed 1927 Long Count boxing match between Gene Tunney and Jack Dempsey. As an avid sports fan, I see many advantages to seeing an event at Soldier Field, starting with the convenient parking and including the best sight lines of any stadium in the NFL with a variety of tasty concessions to hold your interest. As a historian, I am thrilled to sit in a stadium and envision the many great events and teams and athletes that it hosted for 100 years.

Great Stadium

Strange design in the desire to preserve the historic structure when placing the modern stadium on top of it but it works and it’s a pretty cool place to watch a sporting event. Enjoyed the experience of watching the Gold Cup game between the US and Jamaica last night. Although parking is expensive at $55 and traffic was tough when leaving, tailgating was good and there is public transportation options and the stadium is walkable from most of downtown. Setting by the lake is great as is the surroundings in the museum complex and just south of Grant Park. Concessions were good and plenty of restrooms without long waits although the stadium wasn’t at capacity

To be honest, the actual field and stadium are so average. The club concourse is so small and I can't imagine what it's like during a Bears game. The most unique thing about Solider Field are the columns on the outside.

T Swift Concert 6/4. On our way to seats in the last row on level 400, Soldier Fld Security stopped us and said “you’re going on THE FIELD”. They escorted us down the elevator toour seats - about row 20. They made six dreams come true and seemed to enjoy it as much as we did. This actually happened. Field of Dreams.

Had a good tour

A very fun informative tour and we got to see lots of different areas of the stadium and learn about its long heritage and history. There were no signs to show where you wait for the tour apart from the gate number and it was a long walk to the gate as some access points were closed. Took loads of photos and it is definitely worth a visit even if you're not a bears fan. Was disappointing that the club store wasn't open as we were going to spend some money on gifts for family.

Brilliant tour of Soldier Field

The tour was amazing. I think any Bears fan will love this, but hopefully non-Bears fans should too. We were allowed in the the changing rooms, the stands, and next to the field. The tour guide was superb. He's a really nice chap and a fountain of knowledge.

Fantastic stadium tour!

Not a Bears fan but was in the city for a few days and I love touring sports stadium. As a kid I remember seeing the famous colonnades on tv, so was really looking forward to visiting and seeing how they integrated the new stands with the old, what a brilliant job they did. John our tour guide was so friendly and knowledgeable, he made the tour even more memorable. Despite the field being covered in tarpaulin it was still great to be able to walk across it and get a sense of what it must be like for the players. All for just $20, so much better and cheaper than SoFi stadium which was nowhere near as good. Brilliant experience.

Soldier Field is nestled in a clean, expansive park along with a museum and planetarium, bordering Lake Michigan. The commemorative wall to the armed forces is extraordinary. Need I say more. It's the best football stadium of the 20+ I have visited (including SoFi and AT&T).
