On the 18th of May 2022, my mother, sister, and I went to see Doctor Strange at Event Cinema in Gold class at 6:40 PM. Because this was a birthday celebration for my family we decided to get grilled and eat it in the cinema. We would have ordered food from the cinema but due to life theating allergies, there is nothing my mother or I can have if she had something from the cinema kitchen she would need to have an epi/pen. About one minute before the movie started, a manager came down to us and told us that they don't allow outside food or drinks in the cinema. We tried to explain that there was nothing we could have at the cinema and my mother was deathly allergic to everything on the menu. Because my mother and myself are disabled we need food to take medication and to keep our body's going so we can do things. After we tried to explain, the manager walked away, and we thought that was the end of the problem and could enjoy the movie we paid to see. Not even two minutes into the movie, it was stopped, and the lights were turned back on. The manager walked back and apologised to the other guests in the cinema. She came over to my mother and me and said that no outside food or drink is allowed in the cinema. If we wanted to stay and watch the movie, we had to give the food and drinks we bought from Grilled and let them put the food in the fridge. We tried to explain again that we need to have the food because of our disabilities and that what they just did by turning on the lights and stopping the movie was wrong. The manager did not care and was going to call security and have us removed from the cinema if we didn't do as we were told. After some back and forth trying to get her to understand that we need food and there is nothing, we can have at the gold class kitchen. We had security called on us anyway. When they got there we tried to explain once again our disabilities. We were told that we had to give up the food or be escorted out. We chose to leave after some more back and forth with the manager. The problem for us was not that we wanted to keep the food we paid for but that the manager used a humiliation tactic by turning on the lights and stopping the movie to bully three of her guests who paid about $60 or more to see this movie in gold class. Considering that at the beginning of April my mother and I went to see The Batman in Gold class and there were four men who were drunk, shouting and throwing popcorn at the cinema screen. This is assault, public intoxication and disturbing the peace. The lights were not turned on and the movie was not stopped. Security was not called when a fistfight almost started with these men. These men were allowed to stay in the cinema until they left by their choice and it was the same manager who was bullying my family. This manager bullied my mother to point were my mother was crying, had a panic attack and an asthma attack. Only one person in the whole cinema was helpful by helping my mother leave the cinema room after my mother was having trouble walking out because or her disabilities. To that one person I thank you. To everyone else in the cinema at the time and did nothing shame on you. If I was able to get the managers name I would be making a formal complaint against her in an attempt to have her removed. We were against giving our food to the staff because we did not know what conditionn it would be returned however we did not deserve to be humiliated. If Event Cinema really wanted to uphold the no food or drink policy there should be the correct signs on the doors before you enter that state, no outside food or drink past this point. Event Cinema should always treat its guests with the respect, dignity and honour that they deserve. Until this manager is removed or Event Cinema makes an effort to treat its guests correctly we will not be returning to any gold class. I know it may sound like I'm a being petty but on that day we expected to see a movie and enjoy it with dinner. Instead we were humiliated and bullied by a disrespectful manager.

my ears are still ringing 1 hour after movie finished - way too loud , to the point where you wanted to grab a serviette and stuff it into your ears. Please lower the sound
Food menu: sub standard esp for the $$$’s paid
Don’t mind paying for good food, but really are you kidding me from the advertised blurb it’s going to be unbelievably tasteful - NOT
Description: braised beef brisket sliders & large fries ordered
The 3 x sliders were edible , large serve of fries - definitely not crispy, cold and 15 little potatoes strips in large metal basket ( we were sharing)
Queens afternoon tea - 2x scones, strawberry jam, ice cream, & strawberries
What was delivered was stodgy soggy scones, jam & cream
Why bother to use this service
Sadly won’t be coming back to whitfords event cinema’s
3/10 rating and I am being generous

Dirty, uncomfortable, overpriced. This place was filthy from the sticky floors in the popcorn/candy area to the floors inside the actual cinema and it was smelly. The staff came out and said it was clean - there was rubbish everywhere. Uncomfortable- on the whole a terrible experience and will not go again. Only reason we went there was because the movie we wanted to see was not on anywhere else but we will NOT be back. I will stick with my usual movie cinema- what a horrible experience it was here

Took my Mum to Downton Abbey ( big fan) and enjoyed a huge High Tea experience. Not many people as it was around lunch time and felt like a private showing. Staff very friendly. Only disappointment was the coffee was a little cold after asking for it to be very hot.

My daughter and myself went to the early showing of tarantinos new movie.The gold class was great and friendly staff were excellent.Seats were amazing and comfortable.To top it all food and drinks as well first class.A happy birthday was had.

Took the wife to Downton Abbey. Not my normal cup of tea but you know happy wife, happy life. Event Whitfords is brand spanking new and modern. Plenty of eateries and coffee places next to it. Great night out.

First time went to cinema in Australia, took us by surprise. The sound system is soo outdated. Considering you are in Perth/one of big modern cities in Australia, you expect to sit and enjoy a sophisticated cinema with up to date technology instead we found ordinary speakers mounted on the walls, turned blaringly loud and if you happened to sit close to the wall you feel your ears hurt half way through the movie. Techonology is soo cheap now, sound surround system ear friendly cinema should be affordable with such ticket price.

The cinema itself is very good, with great seating, plenty of leg room and the usual supporting amenities - but my goodness, its really well hidden!! Finding the correct parking block (right under the cinema) took days of detective work & the direction signage really needs to be improved. However, it was an adventure getting there and I would recommend that you persevere - its well worth it :-)

We visited event cinema for gold class at Whitfords yesterday. We were really looking forward to going, and after spending approximately $200 on tickets, food & drinks we were extremely disappointed with the service we received.
We arrived early to join a long line at the bar (nobody was checking people in at the ticket desk) this meant a very long wait while people organised tickets, food and drink in one go. We were ushered to an staff member at the back of the bar. We thought it was her first day, it turned out she usually did the clearing up and was not trained on the till or where glasses etc were. She was unable to take the top of my husband’s beer without assistance from the other staff who were dealing with the aforementioned queue. This meant it took 20 minutes just to place our order!!
So despite the fact she recited our order back several times (and it was the last food order to be placed thanks a very slow ponderous order placement due to utter lack of training) the food order was still wrong!!! We missed out on sitting in the lounge with a pre movie drink and ended up going straight through.. We then waited a VERY long time for the seriously substandard food to arrive, which was only half our order. Slider & chips for one. Dry sliders and undercooked chips, not great.
Then each of us had to leave the movie to try and sort it out. Did they care? No not really. They sent us a random order of ‘free chips’ which was pretty insulting and then eventually our food arrived towards the end of the movie. It was so disgusting we were unable to eat it.
Not impressed and will not be returning for gold class at Whitfords again.

I usually go to the Gold Lounge (GL) with Grand Cinemas, however was gifted a gift card towards this Gold Class (GC) experience.
- The complimentary chocolates were a nice touch and was a great start.
- The waiting lounge was not as good as the GL, the atmosphere just doesn't quite hit the mark.
- The bathrooms were better than GL.
- We had to cue to order food as there was only 1 staff member taking orders on a Saturday, did not experience that at GL.
- We were not shown to our seat like we usually are at GL.
- The seats did the job for a 3 hour movie, however it was very cold.
- I found the food more expensive than GL and tasted average.
Overall a good experience however I would prefer GL if I had to choose between the two.
