On the city map, this park is called 'ByParken and is a really short walk from the harbour and the shopping centre. The DomKirk backs onto it, as does the Cathedral school and a small area where, when we visited in December, there was a modest Christmas market in huts and a bandstand.
The main feature of the park though, is the lake and really the park bit only borders one side of the lake, so if you want to walk around the circumference you need to use the pathway and also walk past the station and bus station.
A few benches and statues and, in December, the lake was frozen so we watched the ducks skating across, plus there were lights hanging in the trees.
A nice enough stroll around the lake, but it wouldn't take long and the scenery wasn't very engaging.

Liten, vakker og avslappende men full av måker og en del vakre svaner da vi var der en vakker solskinnsdag i slutten av Mai måned. På kvelden er det lys i fontenen ute i vannet, som gjør seg godt på bilder

Due to weather being wet and coolish we decided not to walk round a lot, this park is located just close to the port about a 5-10 minute walk from the ship.
Just near to the Cathedral the park 'Kiellandshagen' is named after Alexander Kielland a writer from the 19th century, the lake has a small ater fountain in the middle of the lake.
There was a selection of birds around the lake, including ducks, swans etc.
Saw a statue of a boy feeding ducks just close to the lake, and also a statue of Alexander Kielland just close by to the cathedral and park.

Friday 7th September we were sightseeing in Stavanger and we visited this charming park in the heart of the City. It is located at short walk from the Cathedral School and the Cathedral, the train station is also close by.
It is known as Kiellandshagen because the famous 19th century writer Alexander Kielland's house once stood here. Another name used is Byparken, which translates to City Park.
In the center of the park is Breiavatnet, a lake, with an ornate fountain in the middle.
There are a variety of statues and sculptures to see while walking around the park. The favourites were the boy feeding the ducks and the crocodile(no idea why that was there). There are plenty of seats around to sit and enjoy the park and it's colourful flowers and shrubs.
Luckily when we visited here the weather was kind to us and we enjoyed our stroll around the park and lake.
