Second time here and once again we had a blast.
There's lots happening at the BH. We booked in for 'proper' comedy on a Friday night after a previous trip on an 'experimental' Monday night wasn't well-attended. The comics were all on good form, as was the compère, and the local Norwich constabulary provided sound effects on-and-off throughout the performance (we never did find out what was happening that night to bring the 'hot fuzz' to a simmer). The audience were also up for it and freedom of speech abounded, which was a refreshing liberation from some of the woke-ier cashless venues we've had the misfortune to visit in town in the past.
Also mention-worthy are the bartenders downstairs who mix a mean cocktail. I can recommend the sours on the list since I attempted to work my way through all of them. The cherry amaretto got inhaled particularly quickly.
The bowling was great fun and the lanes aren't full-length, which suits the relaxed, positive vibe of the place...and the aforementioned cocktail menu. Neither of us strained anything despite a couple of competitive matches, and the proximity of the lanes to each other means it's easy to strike up a conversation with the neighbours while a team-mate's busy juggling balls.
The venue also has a nice outdoor space for drinking and eating, and while we didn't have dinner there this time around the menu is generally pretty damn good.
All in all it's a great place to go with food, drink, fun, and entertainment all under the same roof. Karaoke is also available but we didn't inflict that on anyone this time around. Next time maybe...

This is a great place for drinks and food and laughs with friends . The food is decent , great size portions , especially the nachos royale . Even sharing we didn't quite finish them off . Everyone else enjoyed their food.
The big issue is with service . After being seated we waited and waited for someone to take order . In the end I had to chase someone round at reception to take orders. Same with drinks during food times but we ended up going to the bar during our meal as it was quicker .
Once ordered it all came at a decent time except one meal , a burger that turned up 10minutes later for some reason . Bowling is fun and didn't do karaoke .

Shocking bowling alley, looked like it hasn’t been touched since 1900’s
Yes it was cheap, now I can see why.
Chairs are ripped and older than my Nan
Pins on the lane are different (rather than all being the same, they look like they just replaced the odd one every 5 years)
The mechanics is out dated, when the pins get placed they wobble and move, sometimes fall over
No TV’s near the alley, you have to go to the bar to check football scores etc, (just put up one TV in the small bowling area)
Rather pay double and go to Hollywood bowl

Love the Bowling House! On this occasion we just visited for drinks and karaoke, but the bowling is great and the food is fantastic too (had a particularly good Christmas party here last year!).
We love the karaoke booth because it really is sound proof, the karaoke programme they’ve got is easy to use and the booth is comfortable and with disco lighting it’s also fun. It also has variable temperature, so on a hot afternoon we have been known to go for a sing in the air con!
The variety of drinks is good too, there’s always some nice beers and we’re big fans of the cocktail list, lots of good non alcoholic options too.
Overall, it’s a great all round venue for dates, parties, family bowling, drinks, dinner.

Perfect place for family fun. Staff are super friendly and helpful, food is very good, bowling great fun. Easy parking with multistory just across the road. Would highly recommend

Delicious food, friendly service and comedy - a lovely evening out. We had booked Hooma comedy so decided to take a punt and eat at the venue first. We weren't expecting much more than a burger and chips but my goodness were we wrong - the greek salad was delicious and my husband's steak was huge. All topped off with friendly, efficient service.

I really enjoyed my visit here and 30 minutes of bowling with my wife. I know nothing about bowling. On arrival, the staff immediately offered to put the bumpers in the gulleys to make it easier to play. I was glad to see most people had the same thing set up. It's an unpretentious place and ideal if you just want a fun activity to do.

Booked the karaoke room, mix up with the pre order food but was resolved easily and was very nice when it came, great fun. Friendly staff

Me and another dad took our 4 girls, ages 2,6,6 & 7, on a Sunday afternoon. Was brilliant. From the guy on the front desk, to the ladies behind the bar everyone was so nice. Booked an hour and no rush to complete. Bowling was great fun and the food after was awesome. The big burger (dads) and kids chicken and chips all round was great and the table football was loved by all.

. Great fun, good value, managed several games in the time. Good selection at the bar, friendly staff and lovely, quirky setting. (more fun than the big places)
