TAO TRAVEL cancelled the trip due to “COVID” issue. See previous reviews, not the first time they use this lame excuse. Worst part, other alternatives are fully booked and we don’t have any extra days to try to go into it another day!! This is a nightmare! If you don’t want to risk being a victim of irresponsible TAO TRaVEL LAST MINUTE cancellation, do not book anything with them, they don’t care who they have to cancel using a ridiculous excuse of a “COVID@ issue to make it sound like a legitimate excuse. See other reviews, not the first time they cancel on people at the last minute when there are no other options.

Accident that added 2-3 hours to the drive. We then only had a short time to explore Venice. Tour guide was informative and great energy. Decided to take the train back instead of returning with the group. Still wasn’t enough time.

Någonsin drömt om att åka gondol längs med kanalerna i Venedig? Varför inte ta tåget från Milano över dagen och njuta av underbara Venedig? Det är väldigt smidigt att ta sig med tåget från Milano då du stannar på sista stationen som är precis i centrum av Venedig och du behöver inte tänka på annan transfer, utan gång fungerar alldeles utmärkt. Jag skulle säga att en dag räcker för att besöka Venedig, du hinner njuta av staden då det finns tåg från tidig morgon till kväll! Staden är inte heller jättestor och på ett par timmar hinner du se det mesta på fot eller också via båttur eller gondol. Jag skulle säga att det är värt att betala lite för att få glida runt i en gondol i 30min, det hör lite till om man ändå besöker Venedig! Det kan vara både dyrt och krångligt att få tag på boende i Venedig, därför rekommenderar jag att bo någonstans i Milano. Det är nära och då kan du även ta en tågtur till Verona över dagen. Du får tre flugor i en smäll! Härligt att få se olika delar av underbara Italien! Hoppas ni får en oförglömlig resa och kan njuta till fullo!

couple things to think about before you think about getting the tour
1. It’s a 6-7 hour bus ride there and back with 5-6 hours in Venice
2. It’s a lot of walking in Venice and your guides are usually fast and you need to keep up
3. No bathroom on the bus but they do make one stop there and back to let you go
4. Your time in Venice is at the mercy of your tour company and unless it’s slow season, you won’t have enough time to go into the basilica, the tower, go on and. Gondala rode, and maybe eat lunch.
So if you are totally okay with the first 4 things... let’s talk about the trip!! I had the luxury of taking a trip with Coty Wonders yesterday so am able to comprare the companies a bit.
First, we were picked up just as they said (6am from the hotel), by a small van. The driver was not very friendly but he got us from point A to B. While we were waiting for the people to arrive, we had 30 minutes so we decided to have some coffee across the street. If you do... DO NOT SIT DOWN and have your coffee as they will charge you 4.5 Euros for a coffee.
When the tour bus arrived, there was a few people around and we were not sure who was in charge until some man started yelling commands at us to have our paper vouchers ready. No good morning or Welcome. It’s one thing I really liked about City Wonderers...they were much more present and welcoming. The guide from Zane Viaggi almost seemed annoyed we were making them take us to Venice!
Now the BUS was awesome. Much better than city Wonderers but it was a longer trip. The seats were bigger, there was WiFi, and an outlet to plug in your phone.
During the 3-4 hour trip to Venice, the guide did give some great information about the history of Venice.
Once in Venice,you take a coveted boat through the lagoon to the other side. This is NOT a boat through the canal. It’s only across the lagoon.
Once the ship docks, we were taken on less than and hour tour of the city of Venice really pointing out the big sites and some interesting information about Venice. The glass shop could have been omitted. It was interesting to see the glass being made but really a waste of time.
We opted NOT to do the Gondala ride only because we wanted to walk around the streets of Venice more. I heard it was okay though
When we all returned to the meeting point, our guide was furious with a few tourists of the group who paid for the Gondala ride but did not understand his directions of where to meet. It was quite shocking to see him lose his mind at these folks. My advice for the guides (you are doing a tour in English which is most peoples SECOND language on the tour so be a little more patient)
Anyway... my impression was this was a good introduction to Venice but save yourself the hassle of this tour. It’s too long to get there and you have very very Little time in Venice
What I would suggest is taking a train yourself and take the 80€ walking tour of Venice with quick entrance to the Basilica and Doges palace.it would have been nice to see. And this way you stay until you are ready to leave.

This was such a fantastic tour! It was a highlight of my trip and I’m so grateful to have stumbled upon it here. Venice is dream-like especially if you get the chance to meander through the streets to the less crowded areas. Of course, mind your path because it’s an easy place to get lost. I also enjoyed a boat ride on the canals and despite the cost, I highly recommend the adventure as it provides a different perspective. Overall, wonderful!

This tour provides a nice introduction to Venice, but you don't have a lot of time to explore. It's basically a brief walking tour and an optional gondola ride. I really enjoyed it, but would like to return to Venice another time to actually go inside some of the sights the tour guide told us about. If you go on this tour please do the gondola ride, it was awesome!

I've always dreamed about my visit to Venice and my Tour Guide Made the experience amazing ! Venice is really crowded and chaotic but she gave us all the information that we needed, even during the free time we felt safe because we had the ZaniViaggi emergency number written on each radio. The tour itself is well organised and I appreciate the fact that we had two different guides: one local and one that stayed with us during the day. Wear comfortable shoes because there is a bit of walking.

Our tour guide 'Sylvia' was horrible! It seemed that she did not want to be there. Her English was horrible and very broken. She rushed, rushed and rushed.
In many situations she walked so fast that she lost the group, and did not seem to care. Had it not been for other members of the tour I would have been lost! And could have missed the bus back to Milan.
Our tour guide "IN" Venice was not much better. She too seemed like she was not interested in being with the group.
Our visit to the glassblowing factory can be best described as a 'TOURIST TRAP'... Glass normally priced at 80 Euros, but today if you pay cash, only 50 Euros - yup - a tourist TRAP!
This tour is not for anyone with mobility issues - lots of walking and there is nowhere - and I really mean NOWHERE to sit down. And when you finally find a spot on the ground the Venice volunteers will approach you and tell you that you cannot sit on the ground! There are a lot of steps, bridges, uneven pavement and narrow streets. So if you have: hip, leg, or feet issues this is not the tour for you. The gondola rides are not for people with mobility issues either. they are not easy to get in and out of. I had visions of 'MAN in the water!',
Our tour bus did not have a toilet, and the trip from Milan is 3 hours long. We made one 15 minute stop about 1 hour into the 3 hour tour and that was it. Our tour guide told us - if you need to use the toilet, buy a coffee from one of the restaurants so they will let you use the toilet. Considering most of the members of the tour were 50-60 years old this lack of planning/accommodation was a bit of a problem for many of us. And like I mentioned before, our tour guide did not seem to care.
Once you get past the planning/accommodation issues and the 2 horrible tour guides - this was a great tour. I am a huge James Bond fan and was able trace the 'Moonraker' scenes and many of the locations of 'The Italian Job' - really cool.
At the end of the day - it is a once in a lifetime visit. And a bad tour guide in Venice is better than a good tour guide back in Baltimore.

I will strongly discourage day trips/tours out of Milan by bus. Furthermore it is very expensive, got to select English speaking tour guard and very very rushing to take tours in Milan. Travel on your own (free & Easy) would be an ideal good choice as you will see more at your own time frame & reasonable cheaper budget option by train or Metro or stay in Milan for 2 days to venture around this beautiful place better. Avoid peak seasons of Summer & Autumn when in Venice. Families with young children, elderly are not adviseable to take this tours. Glass factory is a waste of time unless if you have interest to buy the nice glass items or jewelleries.

I spent an unforgettable day in Venice with Zani. Our tour leader, Sylvia, was superb and extremely helpful. Walking along the lanes and by-lanes of Venice was exciting and fun, as was the Gondola ride and the glass making workshop.

We started our short walking tour just before 12 (so we must have arrived around 11.45). After the walking tour we went to the glass factory/shop - this was only a brief (but interesting) stop then we had our free time. Might have been around 1-1.30. We had chosen to take a gondola ride which the tour guides arranged for us - and told us to come to a meeting point for this by 3- 3.30. The gondola ride was about 25mins. The time to meet up for leaving Venice was around 4.30. Think we returned to Milan at around 7-8 (cant remember).
It was quite a short visit but I still enjoyed it!
