I gave this a rating of 5 but it's far from a 5 star hotel. I hope the rating will get you to read this as it is probably the most unusual place you will ever overnight. But you need to be prepared (see below). THE GOOD STUFF... The tree house you stay in is over 80 feet up a cedar tree and believe it or not, more spacious than most hotel rooms. There are literally three levels to this house including a sitting area at the top of the stair case that sits separate from the tree house itself (yup, you don't have to climb the tree). The house has a four burner stove, sink, spices, dishes, tables and almost everything you need to have a meal. Before you bring all your food, see the comments on "Words of advice" below. There is no running water or refrigerator but the owner provides 2 five gallon jugs of water that run from a spicket above the sink and a cooler with a block of ice. Also on the first level in a separate room is a single bed that can be used as a sitting room and, for want of a better description, a commode. There is a loft above the main level which comfortably sleeps four in two beds. The great part about this is that you open the windows (screened) and not only get a breeze but you have the soothing sound of the creek running below. There are plenty of blankets and even a heater for really cold weather. What a relaxing nights sleep. To add to the amenities, there is a charcoal grill, fire pit and sitting area right by the stream. There is lighting in all the levels (12 volt florescent) but no electric outlets so make sure what ever you want charged up is done ahead. And, the best part of the whole experience is the tour you get of the other tree houses (two). Simply amazing and Bill, the owner and creator, gives a truly heart felt tour as he is proud of what he has accomplished - and he truly should be. Get ready to walk on swinging bridges between houses 100 feet in the air and look out on Mt. Rainer. NOW - SOME WORDS OF ADVICE... This is definitely not for everyone. If you expect any luxuries, you won't find them here. No TV, phone, wireless internet and, most importantly, no tub or shower. Also, the toilet is a port a potty (like on a boat). There are towels, soap, etc. and you can heat water for the most immediate sanitary needs so, just plan on a change of clothes and deodorant to get you through your stay. My feeling is that, if the owner could figure out a way to put an outdoor shower on the ground level near the house, I would be inclined to stay for longer periods that one or two nights. Just not sure how feasible that would be. Also, you need to climb over 80 steps to get to the house so pack light. You won't have to carry your bags up as there is rope and pulley system to get your stuff up, but simplify and pack light. As far as food goes - again, keep it simple. If you want to eat there, consider just bringing something you would like to grill, and make the rest ready to consume (prepared items like potato salad, etc. will make your live much easier). Same thing with breakfast - pick up some fruit, granola bars, etc. The owner provides coffee, creamer, peanut butter, things like that. There are several good restaurants within 6 miles if you don't want the hassle of bringing food. The house is way off the main road so it will be quiet but, if you come back after dark, you will want to have a flash light but Bill has lights available if you forget yours. Also, this is definitely not a place for small children. Great get away for adults. AND A FINAL THOUGHT... Having done this for one night, I would definitely consider doing this again, maybe for a couple nights. It is that great an experience. So don't be discouraged by the cons...it's like camping but with a lot less hassle.…
